Radhanagar Beach :Situated on the south coast of the Havelock Island and lined with tall coconut trees, Radhanagar beach is one of the most popular beaches of Andaman. Due to its pristine white sand and crystal clear waters, the beach was bestowed with the award of 'Asia's Best Beach' by the Time Magazine in 2004. While here, one could relax on the silky sand and spend some peaceful time by the turquoise blue waters. With its mesmerizing sunset and sunrise views, Radhanagar beach is a must-visit for all the beach lovers. Time: 3-5 PM. Beach closes after 5 PM

 

Sightseeing in Havelock

Kalapathar Beach :Kala Patthar Beach, with turquoise coloured waters and dazzling silver sand, is one of the most beautiful beaches on Havelock Island. The beach is famous for its coastline which is adorned with black rocks. The open blue sea, surrounded by the lush greenery of tropical trees, is an amazing sight to behold from the sandy shores of the beach. It also offers mesmerizing views of sunset and sunrise which makes the visit an unforgettable experience. With pleasant views all around, this beach is an ideal place to spend time with your loved ones. Car itineraries usually do not include an extended stop here, therefore keep a lookout while you pass by this attraction. Recommended to do in 3 night Havelock Stay. Straight from ferry guest have to go to Kalpathar beach. After 5 pm Kalapather Beach closes. Timings: 4-5 PM

Elephant Beach :Famous for its rich coral structure and spectacular marine life, Elephant beach is a serene attraction adorned by tranquil surroundings, pristine water, and sparkling sandy shore. One could choose to stroll around or explore the underwater world through various watersports activities. Since the beach is famous for its beautiful coral reefs, snorkeling and sea walking are popular among tourists. Kayaking is another water activity that one could enjoy. Around the beach, there are many restaurants that serve delicious seafood. Note: The boat transfers/ entry to the elephant beach are not included in this. Please pick it from the activity section. The boat transfers to elephant beach will not be provided if it is not picked from the activity section.

The crystal clear and shallow waters of this beach make it a perfect spot for snorkeling or glass-boat rides. Anthropological Museum :The Anthropological Museum, established in 1975, is an ethnographic museum in Port Blair. It showcases the life of six Tribes of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands viz. the Jarawas, Sentinelese, Great Andamanese and the Onges of Andamans and the Nicobarese and the Shompens of Nicobar. Even till this date, these tribes remain very isolated from the rest of the world and visitors require special permission to be allowed inside tribal areas. The Museum is one of the best mediums to understand tribal life on the islands. It has on display articles like handicrafts, tools, clothing, utensils, and ornaments used by them. The museum remains closed on Mondays and Govt. Holidays. Photography is prohibited inside the Museum. Car itineraries usually do not include an extended stop here, therefore keep a look out while you pass by this attraction.

Cellular Jail :Built in 1906, the Cellular Jail was a remote archipelago used by the British to exile Indian political prisoners. Now open as a National Memorial for the public, it features exhibits displaying the grave torture that prisoners used to go through. Also known as Kala Pani, the place gives a peek into the country’s history. The ground floor features a Freedom Fighters Photo and Exhibition Gallery, whereas the first floor has an Art gallery and Netaji gallery. The jail is also known for its light and sound show on India's freedom struggle. Do note that the museum remains closed for visitors on Mondays.

"Enjoy a tour of the infamous Cellular Jail, previously known as Kala Pani. Tour its many exhibits that display the grave torture that prisoners underwent during the pre-independence era. Also explore the Freedom Fighters Photo and Exhibition Gallery, before heading to the first floor. Admire the unique pieces in the Art Gallery and learn more about the brave Subhash Chandra Bose, at the Netaji Gallery. Note: Ticket included. The activity duration is 1 hour. The Cellular Jail is closed on Mondays and Public Holidays. Visiting hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM."
